Growing an email list without discounting
Offers that trade something useful for an address attract better subscribers than a ten percent code.

Discount signups teach people to wait for discounts. Useful signups teach people that your emails are worth opening.
Trade information, not margin
A short guide, a checklist, a planning template, or a pricing explainer attracts people with the problem you solve. Those subscribers convert later at full price.
Ask where interest already exists
The best signup points are the end of a useful page and the confirmation step after an enquiry, not a pop up on arrival. Ask after you have been helpful.
Deliver immediately and once more
Send the promised item at once, then one follow up that adds something related. That pair sets the expectation that your emails contain something, which keeps later sends effective.
